چکیده
Wind is an abundant, yet intermittent, source of renewable energy, with speeds changing both spatially and temporally over a wide range time scales. While wind variability well documented on large meteorological scales the behavior turbulent flow at high frequencies understood, there remain questions in literature regarding intermediate region these domains. Understanding microscale, here considering frequency 10−2 Hz < f 1 Hz, key for turbine control modeling. In this paper, we quantify conditions tower Eolos research station Minnesota using power spectral density analysis. Spectral analysis samples similar mean was conducted to test hypothesis that spectrum’s shape independent speed. Historical speed data were compared evaluated identify diurnal, seasonal, interannual trends spectrum above 10−3 Hz. We conclude following Kolmogorov −5/3 law flows incoming wind, some variations slope magnitude. no conclusive or observed, it shown magnitude can occur

Syllabic (∼2-5 Hz) and fluctuation (∼1-10 Hz) ranges in speech and auditory processing.
Given recent interest in syllabic rates (∼2-5 Hz) for speech processing, we review the perception of "fluctuation" range (∼1-10 Hz) modulations during listening to speech and technical auditory stimuli (AM and FM tones and noises, and ripple sounds). We find evidence that the temporal modulation transfer function (TMTF) of human auditory perception is not simply low-pass in nature, but rather e...
متن کاملDiode laser with 1 Hz linewidth.
We report an ultranarrow-linewidth laser spectrometer at 657 nm, consisting of a diode laser locked in a single stage to a stable high-finesse reference cavity. The system is characterized by comparison with a second independent system. From beat frequency measurements a linewidth below 1.5 Hz (FWHM) and a fractional instability of less than 2 x 10(-15) for 1 s of averaging time are observed.
متن کاملComparison of the Effects of 1 Hz and 20 Hz rTMS on Motor Recovery in Subacute Stroke Patients
OBJECTIVE To compare the low frequency (1 Hz) repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) with high frequency (20 Hz) rTMS on motor functional improvement of the affected upper extremity in subacute stroke patients. METHODS Forty patients with subacute ischemic stroke participated in this study. The first group received 10 sessions of 20 Hz rTMS at ipsilesional M1 area and the other g...
متن کاملIncreased Force Variability in Chronic Stroke: Contributions of Force Modulation below 1 Hz
Increased force variability constitutes a hallmark of arm disabilities following stroke. Force variability is related to the modulation of force below 1 Hz in healthy young and older adults. However, whether the increased force variability observed post stroke is related to the modulation of force below 1 Hz remains unknown. Thus, the purpose of this study was to compare force modulation below ...
متن کاملThe validity and reliability of 1-Hz and 5-Hz global positioning systems for linear, multidirectional, and soccer-specific activities.
PURPOSE The study aimed to analyze the validity and reliability of commercially available nondifferential Global Positioning System (NdGPS) devices for measures of total distance during linear, multidirectional and soccer-specific motion at 1-Hz and 5-Hz sampling frequencies. METHODS Linear (32 trials), multidirectional (192 trials) and soccer-specific courses (40 trials) were created to test...
